Allison lay underneath one of the many passion fruit trees. The fruit added a sweet smelling scent to the air that in other places of the city didn't smell to great. The sun was high in the sky, so Allison guessed that it was sometime around noon, but she couldn't really say for sure. Not that it mattered to her, though. She enjoyed just sitting there and wasting the day away.
Pushing herself up, she leaned back on her hands. Her elbows locked straight so she could keep her balance. She didn't want to fall backwards at all, that wouldn't be much fun. After a while like that her arms began to tire she she sat up all the way, scooting back against the trunk of the tree so she could rest against that.

Caitlynn walked through the grove in a good mood. She had accomplished many things in the very few days she was on the island and she was enjoying the day. The wind blew her long dark hair and she was enjoying the smells of the orchard. She wore her white outfit which included slacks and tank top under a duster that went down to her ankles and white knee high boots that allowed her to move silently through her surroundings.
She came upon a girl sitting under a tree and watched her for a bit taking a piece of fruit and took a bite. "What are you doing out here all by yourself girl?" she asked her. The girl looked a little lost and her heart went out to her remembering her own ordeals of being alone.

Allison looked up through the corner of her eye as a woman drew steadily near to her. She couldn't help but notice the odd outfit she wore. Most people on the streets failed to notice what everyone was wearing, they were too caught up in their own lives to see. But Allison saw everything out there, including the fact that a duster was something you didn't see often. Seeing it now was a bit strange to her, but the girl didn't show it on her face.
The woman took a piece of fruit from one of the trees and bit into it. Allison, who had for a long time come here and cared for these trees, told herself she wouldn't say anything to the woman unless she took too many off the branches.
What are you doing out here all by yourself girl?
Allison looked up fully at the woman when she spoke to her. "I am usually always alone, Ma'am," she responded. Her voice a soprano tone, instead of the more alto tone of the other woman. "And as you can see, I'm just sitting here beneath this tree. Would you like to join me? It's nice in the shade."

Caitlynn responded by moving silently through the grass and twigs and sat against a tree directly opposite to the girl. Not removing her duster was the smart thing in her book because it concealed the weapons she wore, though her boots if you looked closely enough would reveal twin throwing daggers just peeking out of the tops. Leaning against the tree, she extended her legs out and crossed them at the ankles. "I ment that you seemed a little lost and alone." was her only statement as she studied her with great interest.

The woman walked over to Allison through the grass and other various plant and insect life. She smiled as the woman sat next to her, her ankles crossed one over the other. Allison was sitting with her knees pulled up to her chest, her arms now linking themselves under her knees and around her thighs, so her calves rested on her forearms.
"Alone, yes," she replied. "But not lost. I've come here too often to be lost anymore. Grew up in the city. What about you? I don't think I saw you in the graduates at the school in the past four years." The woman was older than Allison was, that was certain, but she didn't know how much older. "Did you move here or something?"

Caitlynn smiled a bit but it was a cold one. She hardly ever smiled warmly.. it just wasnt available to her. She had been through too much. "I was on a cruise ship and it sunk and I ended up on the island." she told her. It really wasnt a cruise ship per say but the explaination would do. "Where is your family?" she asked the girl. It seemed as if she had no one..

Allison shrugged. "We tend to get a good amount of our newcomers that way." she responded before letting the subject go. Most of them just ended up on the island and decided to stay there for no other reason than they had no where else to go. Not that anyone ever left the island anyways. The woman asked about her family and Allison's smile vanished. "I have no family," she said, a hint of sadness in her voice. "They were killed when I was five."

Caitlynn nodded in sympathy saying nothing for a few moments. "A fire?" she questioned sensing it wasnt natural causes that took her family from her. She hated the fact that another girl had gone through what she did as a child.. the lonliness and everything else that went with it. She was lucky that she was taken in and trained but this girl... she didnt know.

Allison nodded. "There was a man that came and shot them, then set the house on fire. He didn't know I was there, but the doctors said the smoke almost killed me. I've been living on the streets since then, getting money here and there to put myself through school. But I don't know what I'm going to do for a living now that I'm eighteen." she said. It was odd that she was sharing this with a woman she had just met, but she didn't give Allison any reason not to trust her.

Raising an eyebrow at the girl's tale of a blotched assasination she shifted her body a little and the daggers in her boots flashed a little in the sunlight. "What would you like to do?" it was an open question but one that could lead to things that were best not discussed with others around. Caitlynn could train the girl.. or .. if she was connected do her a favor that she would forever be in her debt for. In any case she was alone and her heart went out to her. The girl didnt know it but she had just earned a protector. Hell, she might never know it but the woman now known as 'Shadow Wolf' in the underworld did. Truth be told Caitlynn had many girls she protected... this one just joined the ranks.

Allison shrugged. "I helped out Leon at the police station one day, but I don't think that is right for me. I can't stand them enough to work with them." she said. "But other than that I don't know what I want to do at all." Allison could tell the woman was thinking about something so Allison didn't say anything. "I'm sorry," she said after a few minutes. "But I don't believe I know your name."

Nodding she picked up a twig that was heavy enough for her to play with. Expertly twirling it around like she would her dagger, she responded to her question. "Caitlynn." she told her leaving out her last name. The girl was going to be an ally after all.. Caitlynn would make sure of it... either by friendship or by being very indebted to her but an ally non the less. "You had access to police records?" she asked now very interested but seeming very non shallant about it.... almost as if it didnt matter. "Did they ever find the man that killed your family?" she asked pointedly.

Allison nodded. "Yes," she said. "Leon and I are trying to find the person that did it. I still have access when I need it." She suddenly got this bad vibe coming from the woman who introduced herself as Caitlynn. Allison stood quickly and stepped away a bit, not liking the feeling she got. It was like when she was at the beach with James. She had this feeling that he had been lying to her. And she got the same bad vibe from Caitlynn. "Who exactly are you?" she asked quickly.

Caitlynn motioned for her to sit down with the stick she was holding. She had known sooner or later this would come up. It was sooner. "Sit." she ordered her in a comanding voice that brooked no argument. "I am not a danger to you. In fact you are a bit like me and now you have a guardian angel." she told her softly, her voice was now dangerous revealing all of herself in one sentence. The breeze had died down and she removed her duster showing a shoulder harness for a very big gun and began to tell her about her childhood ((see my story)). "So you see.. you now have someone to make sure that what happened to me wont happen to you. If you want that but if you dont you will keep your mouth shut because there will be no where you can hide from me." Dark eyes pierced the girl watching her every move.

Caitlynn's voice commanded authority and Allison didn't think, just sat down quickly where she was. She listened to Caitlynn tell of her life, her eyes transfixed on the gun by her waist the entire time. When she was finished, Allison could feel her eyes boring into her. She lifted her gaze from the gun to look at her. Her eyes were wide and fearful, and her mouth had suddenly gone dry. for a split second their gazes met. Allison's eyes rolled back into her head as her eyes lids closed and she fell onto her side. It was overwhelming what she had just been told and the thought that if she breathed a word of it to anyone meant that she'd be killed before she knew what was happening.
