Allison walked silently down the streets, her footsteps hardly making a sound against the pavement. It had been a long day, and she had come to a desision that there were things in her life she didn't know and had a right to know. That she wanted to know about what had happened thirteen years earlier.
Turning a corner she came up to the police station, walking quietly inside. "Mr Leon," she called out. He hadn't been the one to take care of the case when her parents had been killed, but he was now the head chief and would have the records.
"Mr Leon," she called again. "I have a question for you. About a homicide a while back. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, Sir."

Theo was sitting in the police station resting on his chair, happy for his new post as police chief.. Finally, he could turn this city into a more lawful place.. He was thinking of all the reforms that he would do as soon as he would have enough personnel to go on with them, when he heard the sound of footsteps and saw a young woman entering the station.. Worried that she may have been the victim of raping Theo immediately said: "Come in dear, have a seat. Tell me do you have any crime to report? I will immediately take action for it!!"
Theo heard the woman tell him that she had questions about a homicide that happened that happened long ago. "First of all, what is your name?", Theo asked. "Then you have to present me with some evidence about it, as well as tell me the name of the victim and the year of the homicide so that i can search it in my records.."
Theo waited for the woman to absorb the information and tell him the necessary clues. Meanwhile, he opened his computer to search for the homicide and took pen and paper to write necessary clues the woman would report..

Allison sighed at having to relate everything. "I'm Allison Malne. Thirteen years ago, this man came into my home. My parents and I were eating dinner. He just held up a gun and shot them both. I had been hiding under the table at that point, so either he hadn't seen me before or just didn't care to shoot me. Then he set fire to the house. The doctors at the hospital said it was a wonder I survived the smoke inhalation. Patricia and Grigori Malne were my parents."
It was a part of her history she didn't always like to dwell on. "Please, I need to find out who that man was. I need to feel as if I can do something for my parents, to seek my revenge on the person who did that to them and tore my life apart that way."

Theo left the pen above the paper and stared at Ms.Malne with eyes wide open with surprise.. "Well.. really strange homicide..", Theo said. "And you are saying Miss Malne that this happened here at Passion Fruit City?"
Meanwhile, Theo wrote down all the information that the Miss Malne had reported and searched for the homicide in his computer. He immediately found it.. "The Malne homicide..", he read, "An unsolved case by the police in Passion Fruit City.. A brutal crime done in front of the eyes of the daughter of Patricia and Griggori Malne.. The killer broke in the house and shot the parents in cold blood front of the eyes of their very young daughter Allison Malne.." The case continued with details about the case. Theo finished reading it and noted some further things down.
He then turned to Allison and asked: "And i presume Miss Malne that the face of the killer will always remain in your mind so you can give me a description now? Or have you already given us one in the past? Did you see the killer's face? At least we should know something about his body type.."
Then he paused and observed that a great detail had escaped his attention. He thus reluctantly turned to Allison and asked his last question: "Miss Malne.. What is exactly the purpose of your visit here? Do you want us to open the case again? Have you brought any new evidence?"

And you're saying this really happened here?
Allison narrowed her eyes slightly, not enough so that it was really noticable though. "Yes," she told him. "What reason would I have to make something like this up?" She wasn't the type of person to lie about something like that, especially when it was something that had to do with her family. There was no way she would falsify that.
He started reading the case file, but after a while she stopped listening. She shut her eyes to hide the few salty tears there. Her jaw clenched together tightly as he continued on. Her features relaxed slightly when he was finished with the file. But it didn't say who had done it, just that the case was unsolved. After thirteen years you think they would have caught him.
Allison shook her head. "I didn't see his face. I was hiding under the table before he came in the room and only saw the back of him as he left. He was short, though," she said to the officer. "He didn't seem much older than I was, maybe nine or ten years old at the time. He had brown hair, I remember that, and darker clothing on. Other than that, there really isn't much I can tell you."
Allison's eyes narrowed again, enough for it to be seen this time. "You think I'm going to stand around idely why the person that did this to me so long ago can do this again to someone else?" Standing up she gestered to the door and the streets beyond it. "He's still out there somewhere. I'm not sitting here while I can make some sort of a difference, even if it means just bringing him to you."

Theo looked at Allison with admiration.. He had to admit that she had more guts than a man..
Theo shook his head and wrote down the details Allison had reported. Short.. Brown-haired.. Young.. Then turning once again to Allison he said: "So Miss Malne, do you have any evidence that this man is still in the city? And I would like to add something.. He was a child, barely older than yourself.. We cannot know if he is short.. He grew up.. Basically the only clue we have here is that he has brown hair.."
"If this man is still in the city, and you must convince me that he is, and you are positive about his age, then I am simply gonna find all the men of age 20-25 years old that have brown hair, mark them as suspects and start investigation about each one of them.. However, as I said I must be positive that this person is still on the island and is indeed about the age you mentioned", Theo concluded and looked at the Allison with his dark green eyes waiting for her response..

Allison sat down again and ran a hand through her hair. "If he had left, don't you think that would have made him obvious as a suspect? No, I'm certain he is still here. As for his age, like I said, I was young then, I can't be certain, but I'm almost sure that he was the age I told you."
It frustrated her, all the questions. She wasn't usually one to get asked questions, as she was usually the one who asked them. Now that the roles were reversed she felt out of control of the situation. It was a thing of hers to stay in control, she liked that. So to be out of control for her was a bit unnerving.
"It isn't just the fact that I want to find him. I'm sure you know that I'll need a job soon, as school will end for good in less than a month for me. Maybe you could teach me a bit here? At least if we can't find the one man, I'd feel like I'd be doing something by getting others."

Theo considered for a moment.. It was risky to make such a large-scale investigation, but it could worth it if it succeeded. He shook his head and said: "OK, I'll do it.. I'll make an investigation on the matter.. I must say though that we don't have many chances of getting the killer.."
Then, Theo heard her of talking about getting a job.. He frowned.. The idea of hiring a young and inexperienced woman in the police seemed bad to him, but he knew he had no choice.. He needed personnel.. Reluctantly, he thus said: "OK, if you are still interested in working here after you finish school, you can pay me a visit and teach you some things.."

Allison smiled lightly. "Not work just yet, possibly volunteer part time while school is going on to see if it's right for me?" she asked him. She didn't know what she would do for a living yet, and if she got a job here then later decided this wasn't the right job for her to have she didn't want to feel obligated to stay there. That just wouldn't be fun.

"OK, no problem with you being a volunteer part time... We need people anyway.. You could help me in the investigation for your parent's homicide.. It was indeed a brutal crime.." Theo looked at Allison with eyes full of sorrow for her loss.. He added reluctantly: "If this helps, I'll try my best to do something about your the homicide about your parents.."

Allison nodded and smiled weakly. Without thinking she hugged Mr Leon. "Thank you," she said to him, happy for once that someone cared enough about her. Normally people just passed her by on the street and kept on walking, not bothering to stop even when she begged them to help her get on her way.

Theo was surprised to be hugged by Allison.. He hugged her back and touched her hair to show her his support in the difficult times she had in her life.. She seemed a really tortured person and hit hardly by fate.. Theo understood.. It was really a harsh thing losing you parents from such a young age..

Allison released Mr Leon from the hug. "Sorry," she muttered. "Not normally the type of person to do that." She blinked a few times to keep back the tears that were threatening to spill. "So," she asked him, her voice wavering slightly, but ultimately stronger than she looked, "When do you want me to start?"

Theo looked at Allison. "Whenever you want.. Even now if you wanna.. I'll start now investigating the case you mentioned.. It's the most serious we have here.."
Theo returned back to his office, sat down and looked at the computer screen. He went on the files of the citizens and started searching for men of 20-25 years old..

Allison nodded to him, debating if she wanted to start now or not. Figuring she had come down here anyways she watched as he left and then followed him. Watching over his shoulder at the names on the screen she tried to see if she could pick out a familiar face.
