Allison let her bare feet sink into the sand, the waves rushing over them and splashing a little higher than her ankles. She had always loved coming down to the beach since she was younger. Her parents had been killed when she was about five years old, and since then, she had lived in different allies, coming down to the sand whenever she could find the chance.
Still, she had never set foot in the water, afraid of what might happen. No one had been around to teach her anything like parents usually did wit their children. Alli envied the ten-year-olds that bobbed in the water, as she couldn’t go in herself. A sea breeze came in and blew Alli’s dark hair away from her face and neck, exposing the pale flesh. What a nice afternoon it was.

Dalton had been busy with setting up his new business and didn't have enough free time for himself until today. As the sun was making its way to set and the afternoon was getting close, Dalton made his way to the beach. He had always loved it to go there and sit for hours thinking of what was out of there, far away in the horizon. Having been born on the island, Dalton never met the rest of the world and felt terrible for the curse that surrounded the place.
Today Dalton was wearing blue shorts and a white shirt opened up to the middle of his abdomen while he was wearing a pair of stolen black glasses to predect his eyes. When he reached the beach he placed down his towel and took of his shirt and pants leaving himself with his swimsuit before jumping into the water. He started swimming under the surface feeling the cold water on his cooling his body down. It was a reliving feeling and as he swam underwater he opened his eyes to see the crystal blue waters and the small waterlife that was on the shallow waters.
After some time Dalton swam back to the beach and as he walked through the water that reached his ancles, he placed his hands on his head drying out the water from it, the sun being reflected by the sea on his body.

Allison looked up from the horizon to see a man in his early twenties it appeared jumping into the water. Her eyes flashed green, the color of envy and jealousy. How he held his breath under the water for as long as he did was a mystery to the young teen as she watched him. Her head tilted slightly to the side as she watched the gentle ripples on the surface of the ocean.
Looking around at everyone else she noticed that some of the parents had veered their children away from the man's things and the man himself. Though why, Allison didn't know at all. Why would they be afraid of a person? she wondered, her attention turning back to the man. He had, by now, gotten out of the water. The sun reflected off the water droplets on his body, making his skin almost sparkle. Allison shook her head lightly, looking away but now feeling his gaze pressing against her.

Dalton shacked his head for a second making the water droplets fall off and he looked up at the beach again. His eyes fell on the young girl sitting on the end of the beach not far away from him. He smiled at her as their glances met for a second while he kept walking through the shallow waters of the sea. The water was slightly above his wet anckles.
Suddenly, Dalton stepped on something hard and a questioning look formed on his face as he bend down to see what it was. His eyes caught something yellowish-red gleaming under the water and he reached out picking up a small seashell with a nice color and bendings. Grinning, he kept walking and as he passed by the girl sitting down he nodded at her.
"Good afternoon!" he said to her trying to be polite, while he threw the sea shell on her feet. Winking at her, he walked back to his towel and sat down allowing the sun to dry his body up while his eyes travelled around to the people who were swimming and playing or simply avoiding him. He was still known and this made his strangely....happy!

Allison watched the man carefully as he bent down into the water to look at something by his feet. It appeared as if he had stepped on something from the look on his face. Almost ammusing in a way, the mixture of anger and confusion rolled into one. Something flashed in his hand as he stood again. Alli tilted her head to the other side, not wanting her neck to get stiff.
Good afternoon
"Good afternoon," Allison returned the greeting, her voice softer than his was for some reason. He had a rough quality to his tone, either from the fact that he was a guy and therefore had a deeper voice than she or the fact that he might have seen more than she had due to his being older than she, she didn't know.
He threw something on her feet with a wink and stalked off to his towel. Reaching down, Allison noticed it was a shell, covered in multiple colors, each blending with each other, along with various bends that caught the light in some way at each angle you turned it. Her fingers closed around it as she looked up at the man once more. He was now watching everyone else like she had been doing not long ago.
Standing up, Allison wiped the sand from her rear and walked over to the person. "Mind if I join you?" she asked with the same soft tone as before. Without waiting for his answer, as she usually did, Allison sat down next to him on the sand, letting her bare feet rub over the grains again.

Dalton sat down with his hands crossing over his legs, his back expossed to the sun, his clothes pilled up on the side. He was sitting on his towel looking at everyone realising that he was away for too long and faces changed too fast for him to realise.
The man was sitting there lost in his own thoughts when he heard a female voice talking to him. Turning around he saw the girl to whom he had given the shell coming up to him and sitting down next to where he was. "Well, you just did!" he said replying to her question and he turned to look at her, memorising her features. It was the killer instict inside him that told him to be ready for everything and know every single thing of his surroundings.
"Nice day huh?" he asked her smiling.

Well, you just did.
Allison couldn't help but to grin at that comment. "You'll find I do that a lot," she told him. "I'll ask the question, but waiting for an answer you might not like is something I've never really done." It was true, throughout the years whenever she needed something she would ask for it and end up just taking it before she could be given an answer. From force of habit she had done it now.
The man had only taken a glance at her before Allison felt as if he had started to take in her features. Not that it bothered her much, just seemed a bit out of the ordinary to what she had become accustomed to.
Nice day, huh?
"Yeah, it is," Allison responded. "Wouldn't be out here if it wasn't, don't you think?" She let a small smile creep across her lips in return to his. "Even with everyone disturbing the water you can see right to the bottom," she commented, more for herself than for him.

Dalton couldn't help but laugh at the girl's reply to him and he rushed a hand through his slightly wet hair before placing both hands behind him, to keep him steady while sitting in a different position. "In my job it's better to wait for the other person's answer." he told her smiling though he didn't quite like to show off what he did. And this was true as he might kill the wrong person or kill the one who has the answers he needs without realising.
"I don't relly mind about the weather. I would come out here any time just to find myself away from everyone and everything. I prefer this place when the moon comes up. It's so much more quiet."At her next comment he simply nodded his head. The waters were so blue and clear that the bottom was easily seen even from far away. He always prefered getting close to it and the way fish could breath and survive underwater while being able to travel anywhere in the area filled with water always interested him.
"I'm James by the way." He told her smiling while stretching out his hand. Dalton gave the false name hi face staying normal so that no one would understand. He just met this girl and he didn't want to risk getting known or recognised by anyone. Different names always poped out of his mouth giving him an advantage in the world he lived in.

In my job...
Allison nodded as he said this. "And what is your job?" she asked him. She herself had never had a job yet. At the moment she was finishing up her last year of high school. Though what she was going to do after that was a mystery to her at the moment. The idea of an occupation had never really intrigued Allison's usually restless mind, giving her less than a minute at a time to really ponder the thought.
"I love the moon," she responded to what the man said next. "Always accosiated with lunacy and strange happenings, but really so beautiful and close to us in every way." She had a long time to think about these things, having found herself walking through the city many times in the night.
I'm James by the way.
Allison raised a brow at him. She had the oddest feeling that he was lying about this, but she let the feeling pass over her. "Allison," she returned the introduction. "Nice to meet you." Allison had never really talked to anyone over the years, so meeting someone now was new to her.

And what is your job
The question Dalton was fearing was asked back at him but he didn't let that affect him. Smiling, he titled his head to the site. "I'm a lawyer. I ask a lot of questions, I get a few answers, but that doesn't stop me from listening every word the other person has to say." Dalton was far from a lawyer, he was usually the person on the other side of that table but lying was his forte. Unless he got to trust this woman he would never tell her the truth just as he did with everyone.
"What about you? Do you have any job? Any occupation?"
Dalton was not the romandic type of guy. He never liked this things, never so far as he hadn't found any true love to spend with her beautiful types under the moon. He loved only one thing in his life and that was watching the lif drain out of another person's eyes.
"Nice to meet you too Alison!" he told her moving his hand back and looking again at the sea. This was just a routine for him and he felt comfortable doing it. The sun was moving down and the beach started to empty slowly from the families, while other people still sat on the sand or swam in the water.

Allison merely nodded as he explained what he did for a living. Lawyer... The word rang in her mind, but she still had that feeling that he wasn't telling her the truth. Turning her head to face him she rested her cheek on her knee. "Why do I get the feeling that isn't right?" she asked him, curious as to why her instincts were acting the way they were. As if on a cue the night when her parents had murdered popped into her mind, but no... this man couldn't have done that. Could he?
What about you?
"No," she told him. "I'm finishing up school this year. But the thought of a job just really hasn't worked out. Working in a situation with other people isn't the greatest. Ask anyone in school, they'll tell you how quickly my mood can change and how quick a temper I can have. As for working for Leon like the person before him wanted me to do. Well, thats just something I'll stay away from for my own reasons."
His attitude gave her a feeling as if it was forced and she again wondered if he was being truthful with her. Only time would tell, she guessed.

"Maybe because you met me here at the beach where I'm wearing no costume and tie?" Dalton said replying to the girl's question while a huge smile formed on his face. This was the first time someone so young was not trapped into the spell of his lies. Maybe she was not all that innocent as she looked after all. Dalton had to be careful from now on.
"So, still a student huh. Well I guess you still have time to think of what you want to do with your life. There are many things out there to choose from you just need to be extremely careful to pick the one that wil interest you and bring you some money to live. This is a cruel city, anyone could take the wrong turn wihin a second."
And as everythign was simply nice the girl mentioned the name of someone Dalton hated, someone he wanted to see dead. Leon....could that be Theo Leon?
"Come again?" he asked her raising his eyebrows. "You've been told to work in the police force? You don't quite seem like someone who should work there. The cups now get killed faster than the insects die."

Allison shook her head. "No I don't think that would make a difference," she said to him, her eyes narrowing slightly. "I just have a feeling you aren't who you appear to be." She shrugged. Maybe it was just her paranoia acting up or something. What real reason did she have anyway to say this person whom she had just met wasn't who he said he was?
Allison raised a brow at his comments about the city being cruel. She didn't say anything to him about it though. The young girl had found out about the harsh living in Passion Fruit a long time ago, about thirteen years ago. She could still hear the gunshot if she thought about the day long enough.
Come again?...
Allison gave him a cold stare. "I would join them if my life depended upon it." she said, her voice as cold as her look. "They can hardly pull their pants up the right way, why would I want to work with them? I'm not going to spend my carreer with the people that let so many down before." There was no chance in hell she would work with the people that let her parents be murdered so long ago.

As the girl kept on talking he feared mor for his identity. But he was used to this. He had done it so many times and yet this girl was not folled. She's got.... he thought. Maybe she'll some day conceider getting on the wrong side of the law. Giving her a sly smile, Dalton turned to look at the waters. They seemed so inviting as the sun went down even more and they got a dark color.
"But police experiance huh?" he asked her raising his eyebrows in concern. "I hate them too. They never arrest anyone and I have no job!" he exclaimed trying his best to make her believe his lies. She would find out eventually, maybe later today, in a week, a month or even a year, but he hoped she would know why he lied to her as also to so many before her.
"Wanna go for an evening swim?" he asked her. "The sun ain't strong now it won't affect your tan."

Allison glanced over as he commented on the police force. "No, they don't," she replied. "But they did arrest that Dalton guy a couple of years back, didn't they?" She shrugged, trying to remember where she had heard it from. "Maybe its just my imagination getting up again."
Want to go for a swim?
It was a question she always dreaded hearing, which was why she normally stayed away from anyone when at the beach. "I.... I can't swim," she told him quietly. Standing up she walked to the water so it gently flowed around her ankles. "I'd love to, but I don't know how to."
